Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program

Inspire your students to read with a fun visit from the Zoo! These 30 minute book talks focus on specially chosen books from the Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program. Traveling Zoo Tales will inspire your students to read, to explore, to dream, and to connect to your already established reading program! An Education Staff member with an Animal Ambassador will visit your students and share an interactive discussion about the book. For the 2009-2010 school year Traveling Zoo Tales will feature "Highway Cats" by Janet Taylor Lisle and "First Light" by Rebecca Stead.

Time: 30 minutes per program / maximum of 4 back-to-back programs per day.

Grades: 3rd through 8th

Group Size: Up to 50 students per program.

Cost: $125 per day

Reservations: Required at least two weeks in advance.

Book Choices: "Highway Cats" by Janet Taylor Lisle and "First Light" by Rebecca Stead
