The Central Florida Zoo Welcomes Triplet Cotton-Top Tamarins!

On Tuesday, September 19, our cotton-top tamarins gave birth to triplets!

Cotton-top tamarins are small primates native to Colombia, South America. They are a critically endangered species, losing their habitat at an alarming rate due to deforestation. They live in large social groups, where the whole family helps to take care of the babies, not just the mother. You can hear our cotton-top tamarins communicating with each other with a variety of squeaks and chirps. Be sure to look closely to see the newborns clinging to the backs of the older tamarins. Come to the Zoo and see these fascinating animals for yourself! You can view the whole family of cotton-tops, including mom, dad, four older siblings, and the three newborns daily at the Zoo from 9:00am until 5:00pm.
