Homeschool families can experience a wide variety of interactive programs at the Zoo, where the classroom comes to life! Up close animal encounters, games, crafts, and activities are all part of this exciting learning environment. Choose from a variety of homeschool ZOOventure classes for students ages 9-13.

Annual Pass Holders:  $15.00

November 13, 2018:  Primates of the Forest

From forests to rainforests, we will track primates around the world. Research and discovery will show us how we can help these animals.

 

December 11, 2018:  Fun with Taxonomy

Have fun and explore the cool side of animal science with an up-close look at animal classification.

 

January 8, 2019:  Winter Wildlife Wonders

Brrr…It’s cold out there! Learn how the animals survive and thrive in the cold winter weather.

 

February 12, 2019:  Skull Skills

Take a fascinating look at skulls and other bones to discover what they can teach us about the animals they come from.

 

March 12, 2019:  Zoo Animal Enrichment

Discover how our Animal Care Specialists make every day a busy day for the animals at the Zoo.

 

April 9, 2019:  Animal Architects

Animal homes range from simple to extreme. From honeycombs to bird nests, tunnels to treetops, we will explore and discover some incredible animal architecture.

 

May 14, 2019:  X-treme Reptiles

Class Reptilia: Crocodilians, lizards, snakes, turtles, tuatara…tuatara? This extreme adventure will take students deep into the realm of reptiles.

 

Program Registration 

  • Students must be registered in their corresponding age group.
  • Classes are drop off and pick up.
  • Parents are provided with a complete program itinerary.

Registration is required at least one week in advance. Program size is limited. Classes are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students is not met one week prior to program date.
