Homeschool families can experience a wide variety of interactive programs at the Zoo, where the classroom comes to life! Up close animal encounters, games, crafts, and activities are all part of this exciting learning environment. Choose from a variety of homeschool ZOOventure classes for students ages 5-8.

December 11, 2018:  Where the Wild Things Were

Where have so many of the wild things gone? Learn about animals that are now extinct, why they have vanished, and how e can keep other animals from disappearing forever.

 

January 8, 2019:  Creature Feature

Meet creatures with amazing features! From the unusual to the extreme, these animals will surprise you with the strange adaptations they use to survive in the wild.

 

February 12, 2019:  Winter Wildlife Wonders

Brrr…It’s cold out there! Learn how the animals survive and thrive in the cold winter weather.

 

March 12, 2019:  I Dig Bones!

Get down and dirty in the ZooLab paleontology dig site and examine fossils, skulls, and biofacts. Learn some cool facts and prehistoric animals and develop your skills as a junior paleontologist.

 

April 9, 2019:  Zoo Animal Enrichment

Discover how our Animal Care Specialists make every day a busy day for the animals at the Zoo.

 

May 14, 2019:  Monkey Business

Brachiation, prehensile, arboreal…what is it all about? It is all monkey business as we have fun learning about primates.

Program Registration

  • Students must be registered in their corresponding age group.
  • Classes are drop off and pick up.
  • Parents are provided with a complete program itinerary.

Registration is required at least one week in advance. Program size is limited. Classes are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students is not met one week prior to program date.
