Animal Outreach Programs at the Central Florida Zoo
Provide an unforgettable experience in your classroom, or in an auditorium setting with our new Go Wild! outreach. All of our outreaches are presented with live animals and are adaptable for any age or understanding level. Upon request we can include discussion materials targeted to help you meet specific goals or standards. Customized outreaches are also available with our Create-Your-Own Outreach program.
Our outreach presentations are in compliance with the Jessica Lundsford Act and approved by the state to travel to your school.

Auditorium Presentation
Go Wild! is our new multi-concept, multi-media auditorium presentation that travels with amazing animals and fun creative challenges for your students. Designed for larger groups, Go Wild! can be geared to ages 2nd grade through high school. For the younger grades, concepts such as animal senses and animal adaptations come alive! The older grades will learn about careers in zoology by playing Zoo Jeopardy. Have you ever wondered how zoo keepers train animals? Your students will get a first hand look at animal behaviors in action.

Classroom Presentations and Walk-up Outreaches
Descriptions
Florida Natives: Meet some of the wonderful animals that share our state, including some you might see in your own backyard. This encounter features Florida's diverse wildlife including alligators, opossums or gopher tortoises. Learn why it is imperative that we become stewards of our state in order to save habitat for these natives.
Creatures of the Night: Fascinating night life comes to light during this adventure with several nocturnal denizens. Discover amazing characteristics and adaptations that have allowed these animals to be successful in the dark. Representatives might include a kinkajou, evening bat or screech owl.
ZOOm Around the World: See the world through the eyes of animals from a variety of continents and habitats, without leaving your classroom. Students will meet animals native to the far corners of our planet. A diversity of species, which often fill similar niches, will be presented. Representatives might include an emperor scorpion, red-billed hornbill, bearded dragon or sugar glider.
Create-Your-Own Outreach: The diverse group of animals and biofacts in our Education Department allows us to create an outreach presentation to meet your specific needs. Focusing on birds? Invertebrates? Reptiles? Call and let our team create the prefect outreach program for you.
