Open 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily.*

Kids of all ages will enjoy staying cool as they splash around the watery playground.
Located at the front of the Zoo, the Splash Ground was designed for those hot and humid days in Florida when you just want to cool off.
The Tropical Splash Ground includes an octopus, lobster, sea turtle, raining trees, and a bucket dump and is just waiting for children-of-all-ages to enjoy.
*Notice - While the Wharton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground is open
all year, it is now closed (for the entire day) when the temperature is lower
than 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, the Splash Ground is closed when thunder and/or lightning is seen or heard in the vicinity of the Zoo. The Splash Ground will stay closed in such an event until thunder and/or lighting has not been seen or heard (according to Zoo management) for a 30 minute time period.
