Our monthly Garden Tours invite you to explore the Zoo’s living landscapes with one of our expert horticulture technicians. These engaging, hour-long experiences reveal the connections between plants, animals, and people—and the hidden gems tucked throughout our garden paths.

During your walk through the Zoo, you’ll stop at several fascinating garden highlights:
🦋 Butterfly Garden A colorful haven designed to attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and pollinators. Discover nectar and host plants that support every stage of the butterfly life cycle.
🌿 Health and Wellness Garden Explore the deep-rooted relationship between plants and people, from culinary herbs to medicinal uses.
🌵 Spiny Garden Sometimes plants protect themselves with sharp defenses. Learn the difference between spines, thorns, and prickles in this “Porcupines of the Plant Kingdom” display.
🌸 Bromeliad Collection Spot both ground-dwelling and tree-clinging bromeliads throughout the Zoo—members of the stunning and diverse Bromeliaceae family.
🍃 Fern Collection Ferns are ancient plants that reproduce with spores instead of seeds. Our collection highlights the variety of species thriving in our subtropical climate.

Tour tickets are just $6 per person, or $5 for Zoo Annual Passholders.
