Zoo Programs for Families and Adults

The Zoo offers year-round special programs and presentations for adults looking to learn more about wildlife and the natural world.

Wild Zoo Art for Families! 

Kids and canvases! It’s art gone WILD at the Zoo! Join us for an exciting opportunity to meet a special animal up close and paint its portrait. An art instructor will guide everyone to create their own masterpiece as both kids and adults meet some amazing animals at the Zoo! Supplies will be provided. Space is limited. Ages 5-13. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Date:  March 12, 2022

Cost:  Annual Passholders – $15 per person / Non-Pass Holders – $18 per person

Registration Required. Must be 5-13 years or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Zoo admission is not included. Refunds will not be provided for self-initiated cancellations once registration and payment have been processed.

Safety Measures

  • All participants will be required to wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth.
  • Social distancing measures will be in place during all activities.
  • Family groups will be kept apart to keep interactions with others at a minimum.
  • Participants will have access to handwashing areas and hand sanitizer will be available in activity spaces.

Wildlife Photography: Focused on Butterflies

Discover how to capture one of nature’s most beautiful species on camera. We’ll travel around the Zoo’s botanical areas to learn the best places to find them, the best times to look, and how to film them. Participants must bring their own equipment, including a digital camera with manual settings and/or aperture priority, telephoto and close-up lenses or a zoom lens with both capabilities. The techniques covered will apply to both film and digital cameras. Class size is limited. Registration required. Zoo admission is included.

Date:  April 2, 2022

Time:  8:30 am – 11:00 am

Cost: Annual Passholders – $20 per person / Non-Passholders – $30 per person
