Want to learn more about the Zoo’s wild residents? With our Private Experiences, there’s even more of the Zoo to see and endless fun to be had.

PLEASE NOTE: All private experiences must be booked at least two (2) weeks in advance of your visit.

 

Otter Training Experience

Possibly the cutest attraction available at the Zoo, our Otter Training Experience lets you go behind-the-scenes to learn about how the Zoo’s Animal Team cares for our otters and participate in a training session.

Cost: $250.00 for up to 4 guests and includes 2 guests in training session; $300.00 for up to 4 guests and 4 guests participate in training session

Participants: Must be 13 years or older

Capacity: 4 Participants

General Guidelines: Animal safety regulations requires all participants to wear closed-toed shoes

Tortoise Encounter

Slow down and get to know one of the Zoo’s tortoises. Go behind-the-scenes to meet and feed one of the Zoo’s most easygoing residents, our Aldabra Tortoise. You may be surprised by how quickly she can gobble up her fruits and veggies!

Costs: $25 per person, children age 3 and under must be held and are Free / Admission to the Zoo is not included and is required to participate in this experience.

Capacity: 4 Participants

Gentle Giants (Crocodile) Feeding

Hang with the crocs during dinnertime. Take part in the feeding of the Zoo’s American crocodile and learn more about the Zoo’s other reptilian residents.

Cost: $300 for group of 3 / Admission to the Zoo is included

Available: Seasonal depending on temperature.

Participants: Must be 13 years or older

Capacity: 3 Participants

Keeper for a Day

Have you ever dreamed of being a Zoo Keeper or know someone who has? Join us to experience what it’s like to be an animal keeper at the Zoo! This exciting experience offers you an incredible opportunity to delve deeper into the animal department of your choice. You can choose to participate as a Carnivore, Bird, Reptile, Hoofstock, or Program Animal Keeper.

The Keeper for a Day experience is offered year round.   

Time:  9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Available:  Every day

Ages:  16 and up

Cost:  $150.00 per person and may be purchased for yourself or as a gift for someone else

Reservations:  To make a reservation, or purchase a Keeper for a Day gift certificate, please call 407.323.4450 ext. 123 or email education@centralfloridazoo.org.  Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance.  Must be 16 years or older.

 

Family Zoo Keeper Experience

Explore the wild side of animal life as a Zoo Keeper in training! Explore the ZooLab and work alongside the Program Animal Care Specialists caring for animals, preparing diets, animal training, and cleaning. Discover what an exciting experience it is to be a Animal Care Specialist, and learn how Zoo’s are helping wildlife around the world!

Time:  9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Available:  Every day

Ages:  9 years and up / Children must be accompanied by an adult

Cost:  $100 per adult and child / Admission to the Zoo is included

Reservations:  Required at least two weeks in advance.  Limit one adult and one child.
