ONSITE ZooVenture Classes for Ages 12-17

The Wildest Classroom in Central Florida

Students ages 12-17 can experience a wide variety of interactive programs at the Zoo, where the classroom comes to life! Up-close animal encounters, games, crafts, and activities are all part of this exciting learning environment. Offered November and December, program descriptions and dates are listed below.

 

Z.S.I. – Zoo Science Investigator

Students will train as Zoo Science Investigators to unravel a case study focusing on animal poaching. Learn how forensics can be used in wildlife conservation. 

Date: Saturday, February 6, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Cost: Annual Pass Holder – $20 / Non-Pass Holder $25

Students must be registered for the appropriate age group. Registration is required at least one week in advance. Class size is limited. Classes are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students is not met one week prior to the program date. Refunds will not be provided for self-initiated cancellation once registration and payment have been processed.

Hoofin’ It

It’s an exploration of ungulates to discover more about this large and diverse group of mammals, including rhinos, giraffes, llamas, pigs, and more. 

Date: Saturday, March 6, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Predators

On the move or standing still, camouflaged or hidden in plain sight, explore how predators search for food in the wild.

Munchers and Crunchers

We’ll examine the mouths of animals from around the world. From teeth on the tongue to multiple mouths, it’s extreme animal dentistry!

COVID-19 Safety Measures

  • Temperature check and health screening prior to entry into the classroom.
  • All participants will be required to wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth.
  • Class size is limited to 15 students, two instructors.
  • Social distancing measures will be in place during all activities.
  • Participants will have regularly scheduled hand washing breaks and hand sanitizer will be available in all activity spaces.
