Lake Monroe Cleanup

We’re inviting you to continue celebrating Party For the Planet with us! The Association of Zoos & Aquariums has challenged facilities across the country to Spring Into Action and take action to help local communities.

We sit across from Lake Monroe—one of the largest lakes in Central Florida, spanning over 9,000 acres. Unfortunately, like many heavily populated areas, the shores of Lake Monroe are littered with waste and pollution harmful to the environment.

Join the Zoo’s Dream Team to help clean up some of the shore and help keep our community beautiful!

Saturday, May 4
9 AM to 12 PM

Managed by the Saint Johns River Wildlife Management Department, Lake Monroe helps improve water quality, increase flood protection, preserve and restore natural diverse and animal populations, and promote popular recreational activities in the area.
