World Rhino Day

September 23, 2023

9:00 am - 3:00 pm

3755 W. Seminole Blvd, Sanford, FL 32771

World Rhino Day

Did you know there are 5 unique species of rhino in the world?

Celebrate PJ, the Zoo’s greater one-horned Indian rhino, as well as all five species around the world. Help support rhino conservation working to save these incredible animals from extinction by participating in different activities and enjoying Keeper Chats to learn more.

Learn more about the greater one-horned rhino here.

Plus, to make sure all can celebrate, the Zoo will also open one hour early for guests and families with sensory needs. Guests who have sensory needs can enter at 8 a.m., and from 8 to 9 a.m., the Zoo will have special operations to accommodate them, including limited attendance for quieter crowds; sensory bags available with noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools; and a dedicated classroom for safe space to take a break if needed.

The Zoo will open to the public at 9 a.m., and the World Ocean Day celebration will continue until 3 p.m.

This event is included in general Zoo admission.

For more information call 407-323-4450, ext. 121 or email dawnd@centralfloridazoo.org.
