Homeschool families can experience a wide variety of interactive programs at the Zoo, where the classroom comes to life! Up close animal encounters, games, crafts, and activities are all part of this exciting learning environment. Choose from a variety of homeschool ZOOventure family workshops for children of all ages and adults.

Program Dates and Topics

 

September 25, 2019:  Wild Science: Invasive Species

Alien plants and animals can do lots of damage when released into non-native habitats. It’s wild science in action as we explore, identify, and restore.

 

November 6, 2019:  X-treme Reptiles

Class Reptilia: Crocodilians, lizards, snakes, turtles, tuatara…tuatara? This extreme adventure will take students into the exciting realm of reptiles.

 

February 19, 2020:  Exploring Biomes

The Earth is made up of many different biomes and we’re going to explore them! Let’s discover who lives where and how they survive.

 

April 22, 2020:  Earth Day Every Day

Every day people choose to make a difference. Big and little, it all adds up. What can you do? Let’s find out and meet some of the incredible animals you’ll be helping!

 

Program Registration

Registration is required at least one week in advance. Program size is limited. Classes are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students is not met one week prior to program date.
