SANFORD, Fla. (September 11, 2023) — Everything the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens does is for its animal residents. Now, the Zoo is taking that mission to the green with its golf fundraiser Fore! The Animals.
The event will tee off at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at The Club at Venetian Bay in New Smyrna Beach. The Zoo is still looking for sponsors for the event, and limited foursome spots are available.
This year’s event is presented by Johnson Group Homes, and proceeds benefit the animals at the Zoo and the Zoo’s mission.
In addition to championship golf, participants can enjoy a breakfast/tailgate party, lunch, a raffle, a wine pull and more. Participants are encouraged to wear golf/animal-themed attire. The event is 21+.
The Zoo is dedicated to serving as a leader in conservation, creating connections that inspire people to take action for wildlife. The Sanford nonprofit recently lived out this mission by taking in another Mexican spider monkey that was confiscated from wildlife traffickers as well as several venomous snakes that were confiscated from an illegal wildlife trade operation.
