Homeschool Family Workshops

Explore a new learning environment

Homeschool families can experience a wide variety of interactive programs at the Zoo, where the classroom comes to life! Up-close animal encounters, games, crafts, and activities are all part of this exciting learning environment. Choose from a variety of homeschool ZOOventure family workshops for children of all ages and adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Homeschool Program Guide – Information On Dates and Program Descriptions


Time:  2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Annual Pass Holders:  $30.00 per Family

Non-Pass Holders:  $35.00 per Family


September 27, 2023:  Microhabitats
Some of the smallest animals and habitats on the planet can be the most interesting and important. Join us to peer into these tiny realms of ecological indicators.


November 1, 2023:  Art in the Wild
Journey with us as we explore the amazing rainbow of colors found in nature through art. Learn how animals use color and patterns as a disguise, a warning, or to attract other animals.


February 21, 2024:  Heart of the Rainforests
Be immersed in the world’s rainforests through interactive activities, biofacts, and live animals. Known as the “lungs” of the planet, discover that the real heart of the rainforests lies in you.


April 17, 2024:  Earth Day at Home
Explore the wilds of Florida in this cross-state journey to discover amazing animals and habitats in our state and national parks.


Safety Measures

For the health and safety of our animals, you and your child(ren) will be required to bring a mask to the education program and may be asked to wear it during the animal encounter or when going behind the scenes.


Program Registration

Registration is required at least one week in advance. Program size is limited. Programs are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of participants is not met one week before the program date. Refunds will not be provided for self-initiated cancellation once registration and payment have been processed. An adult must accompany children.
