6 things for adults to do at the Central Florida Zoo

At the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, having something for everyone is not just a marketing tagline. It’s part of our mission!

Throughout the year, we offer events for kids and fun family activities. We also have a long list of events and activities in Orlando for adults.

Whether you want to enjoy a delicious craft beer, immerse yourself in culture, or simply come to see the animals, we have plenty of options for you. Check out our list below of the top 6 things to do for adults at the Sanford Zoo.

Brews Around the Zoo

Brews Around the Zoo is a wildly popular event, and it’s just for adults. At this annual fundraiser, attendees 21+ can sample more than 30 craft beers as well as wine and seltzer selections while strolling through the Zoo. There is also live music and food. While Brews is certainly a blast, what’s better is that the day benefits our mission of animal conservation and education. Brews Around the Zoo is the perfect date night or an outing for a group of friends. Click here for more information.

Rhinoceros encounters

Ever been up close to a huge rhinoceros? At the Central Florida Zoo, you can! Experience the excitement of an up-close encounter with our trained staff guiding you at every step along the way.  Meet, touch, enjoy photo opportunities and learn about our greater one-horned rhino, PJ, plus, ask our expert keepers any questions you have about this vulnerable species. Book your exciting rhino encounter the next time you visit here.

Sunset at the Zoo

One thing about Florida is that it gets hot during the summer months. Sunset at the Zoo is a spectacular event for all ages, including adults, because it allows you to enjoy the Zoo for extended hours when it’s a bit cooler. The Zoo reopens at 5 p.m. and offers fun until the sun goes down. It’s the perfect happy hour! Each month’s event will celebrate a culture, complete with local community nonprofits, food trucks, cultural themed activities and entertainment. Asian Lantern Festival

There are so many things to do in Orlando during the holiday season. The annual Asian Lantern Festival at the Central Florida Zoo is a spectacular display of culture and light! It’s an event for all ages, but adults can truly appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating the ¾-mile path with the large, handmade lanterns lit up by thousands of LED lights.

While strolling through the breathtaking lights, guests can enjoy live music, food, drinks and authentic artisan crafts. This event is perfect for the holidays and occurs from November to January. Bring your friends for a festive night out during the holiday season or make it a date night. Keep an eye on our website for 2024 details.

Volunteer

At the Central Florida Zoo, there are so many ways to lend a helping hand. For adults, we offer a Zoo Interpreter program, a Docent program and our Zoo Crew, with different responsibilities and commitments to fit a variety of skills and schedules. Contact the Volunteer Office at 407-323-4450 ext. 127 or email us at volunteers@centralfloridazoo.org.

At the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, we truly aim to welcome all. For all the adults out there, feel free to grab your friends, walk around our Florida zoo, see your favorite animals, learn lots of information, explore and have a great time. Or, join us for our special events!

We look forward to seeing you soon. In the meantime, purchase tickets, view upcoming events and get more information about our conservation mission at https://www.centralfloridazoo.org/.
