Invasive Species Cleanup

We’re inviting you to continue celebrating Party For the Planet with us! The Association of Zoos & Aquariums has challenged facilities across the country to Spring Into Action and take action to help local communities.

The Zoo has several invasive plant species throughout our Botanical Gardens and we need volunteers to help eradicate some of these plants from our grounds. Our horticulture team will teach us how to recognize invasive species and the most effective way of removing them without harming the environment.

Saturday, May 18
10 AM to 12 PM

May 18 is Endangered Species Day, and this year we’d like your help saving plants! Animals aren’t the only species to face extinction; several native plants have to compete for resources with invasive species who flourish in a new environment.
