50 Years of Memories

Share your Zoo Stories & Photos!

Welcoming All to the Wild

On July 4, 1975, the Central Florida Zoological Park opened its gates at its current location. With a handful of animals and a deep love of the wild, the ‘new zoo’ continued the legacy of the previous location where Sanford City Hall now stands, providing unforgettable experiences to the community and inspiring generations of animal lovers in Central Florida and beyond to keep coming back.

As we prepare to start a new chapter in our legacy, we’d love to share your stories and photos from the past 50 years of the Central Florida Zoo!

Share your memories with us below, and we’ll feature a number of entries on our social media channels, emails, website, and within the Zoo over the course of the next year as we celebrate 50 years at our current location!
