There’s a new reason to slow down, breathe deep and soak in the beauty of nature during your next visit to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens.
The Zoo has officially opened its newly renovated Wellness Garden, sponsored by AdventHealth. It’s a serene, educational space designed to highlight the healing power of plants.
Unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 6, the newly renovated Wellness Garden invites guests to explore the natural connection between plants, health and overall well-being. It’s a peaceful area of the Zoo where botanical beauty meets hands-on learning.

The revitalized garden is part of the Zoo’s ongoing Wild About Wellness partnership with AdventHealth, which also supports the Zoo’s playground and the Spiny Garden. For the Zoo, this partnership reflects its commitment to helping guests better understand the natural world and how it supports us.
“We’re grateful to AdventHealth for partnering with us to renovate our Wellness Garden; a space where learning and wellness grow hand-in-hand,” said CEO Richard E. Glover Jr. “The Wellness Garden offers a reminder of how closely our health is tied to the natural world, aligning perfectly with the Zoo’s mission of education, conservation and connection.”
AdventHealth shares that vision.
“AdventHealth welcomes the opportunity to partner with the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens to cultivate a space that promotes health,” said Jeff Villanueva, CEO of AdventHealth Altamonte Springs. “The Wellness Garden is a wonderful place for guests to slow down, explore and discover how nature helps us feel whole.”
Set within the Zoo’s lush botanical setting, the Wellness Garden showcases a variety of culinary and medicinal plants. Guests can discover how herbs and botanicals have been used for centuries and how many continue to play a role in modern wellness today.
Whether you’re learning about traditional herbal remedies or simply enjoying the sights of the garden, the space is designed to spark curiosity and encourage mindful moments.

The Zoo offers monthly Botanical Garden Tours, typically held on the first Saturday or Sunday of each month. Led by the Zoo’s knowledgeable horticulture technicians, these tours take you behind the scenes of the Zoo’s vibrant plant life. During the tour, guests will explore how plants, animals and people connect within this thriving ecosystem.
It’s a great way for nature lovers, families and curious minds to grow their understanding of the botanical world. Click here for more information or to book a tour.
