Fall Events in Orlando

While Floridians don’t get to experience fall like states in the Northeast do, we do typically get a dose of some cooler weather. And after the heat of summer, many residents of the Sunshine State take fall as an opportunity to get back outside and enjoy some Orlando activities. It’s one of the best times of the year!

Family fun at the Central Florida Zoo

The Central Florida Zoo hosts a number of family and adult activities in Orlando all year, but we love putting on a few special fall events each year, too. One favorite of the past? A bat house building workshop! Building a place for bats to rest may seem spooky, but it provides a great natural pest control system and a fun thing for families to do together.

The fall also means our final Sunset at the Zoo and Family Sunset at the Zoo of the year—with cooler weather to boot! Sunset at the Zoo offer adults the chance to enjoy the Zoo with their friends and a drink, and Family Sunset is perfect if you’re looking for things to do in Orlando with kids. Keep an eye out for these events from May to October each year.

Southern Hill Farms’ Fall Festival

Dying for some cute fall family photos? Southern Hill Farms is a go-to of the Orlando attractions. Their fall festival includes everything to love about the season with a Florida twist, like fresh apple cider donuts and a corn maze. There are tons of outdoor and fun family activities, and of course, they have their share of pumpkins for you to purchase and take home!

EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival

Disney is one of visitors’ favorite Florida attractions, and there’s always something special to experience. Every fall brings EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival. This event allows guests to walk “around the world” and try a range of global food and drink. If you haven’t been, you might consider making it your Orlando fall tradition!

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights

If Halloween to you means true spooks and scares, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is the move. Every year this adult-focused event delivers a new way to frighten its guests with themed haunted houses and scare zones. There are also themed food and drink choices to cap off a fully frightening night!

The Central Florida Zoo’s Zoo Boo Bash

Looking for something a little less than spooky this Halloween? Zoo Boo Bash is one of the most beloved and favorite events for kids we have at the Central Florida Zoo. This yearly event encourages all kids and adults to dress up for a WILD spin on trick or treating around the Zoo. In addition to the Zoo fun, there is plenty of entertainment, like a magic show, festive book reading, and fun inflatable obstacles. Learn more here.

There are so many ways to enjoy Florida this fall, no matter your age range or interests. We love this season at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, and we hope you’ll find time to visit our Sanford Zoo, whether just to enjoy the gorgeous weather or for a special event. See you soon!
