Celebrate wildlife, nature and fun at the Central Florida Zoo’s Party for the Planet

Get ready to celebrate the planet in a big way! On May 16, 2026, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is throwing a Party for the Planet – the ultimate celebration of wildlife, nature and community.

Part of a global conservation celebration led by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), Party for the Planet connects guests of all ages with meaningful actions they can take to protect animals and wild places both locally and around the world.

Guests can meet conservation organizations, learn about ways to support wildlife, join keeper chats, tour the Zoo’s gardens, and even take home a native milkweed plant to help monarch butterflies thrive.

Kids can also add their own promise to help the planet to the interactive “Bloom for the Planet” flower wall and earn a special plant giveaway (while supplies last).

“Party for the Planet is a wonderful way for visitors to connect with nature while learning how small actions can make a big impact for wildlife and conservation,” said CEO Richard E. Glover, Jr. “By inspiring our community to protect pollinators, preserve habitats and support sustainable choices, we are helping create a healthier future for animals and people alike.”

Adding to the excitement, the Zoo is hosting a two-day plant sale on May 16 and 17, offering a wide variety of plants from local vendors that help create pollinator gardens and wildlife-friendly habitats at home. Zoo admission is required.

Plant vendors scheduled to be in attendance include:

  • Responsible Hub
  • EFG Orchids
  • Penang International Inc.
  • Harley Farm Citrus
  • Hopkins Nursery
  • Flowing Well Tree Farm

The Zoo will open at 9 a.m., and the Party for the Planet will continue until 4 p.m. The Zoo will remain open until 5 p.m.

This event is included in general Zoo admission. Additional fees may apply for certain activities.
